Foreign Property--Park and log cabin in Central Brittany

In the middle of Brittany and surrounded by the forest of Quénécan (2,300 ha) and the small village of Cléquérec, lies a private domain of 9,600 m2. Half of this domain is laid out as a park; the other half fits quietly in the natural and green surroundings typically for Central Brittany. At only two kilometers of the village center the domain forms an island of tranquility enclosed by a creek and an old railway bank. The hart of the park consist of two lawns separated from each other by flowerbeds with trees and shrubs in which old oaks, acacia and spray are the most abundant plant species. On the domain there is a log cabin. The cabin is build on a concrete basement whereas the cabin itself is constructed of wood (free of maintenance) secured by a metal framework. The cabin is insulated, and covers a total area of 14 by 5 meters. There is a large living room that ends in a kitchen compartment. Furthermore there are two bedrooms, a soberly bathroom and a toilet. All compartments have tiled floors. The cabin is fully self-sustaining. Electricity is generated by a solar system on the roof (Shell Solar). The electricity is stored in large batteries that run the 12-volt system in the cabin. The solar system generates more than enough electricity to illuminate the cabin and to operate the pump in order to pressure the taps. The water in the groundwater well is tested and was found suitable as drinking water. To cook, a gas cooker on propane gas is used. There is a refrigerator present that also works on propane gas. Although winters are not particularly hard in Brittany, a large wood burner makes a stay in wintertime very pleasant. The cabin is connected to the French telephone network. Next to the cabin a build-in barbecue of stone is present. On one of the lawns a jeu de boules court is build.
